    For me, it all started here. Mastering the Art of French Cooking taught me essential kitchen skills, helped me start to understand why cooking works the way that it does and helped me see the joyful meditation that is cooking.  Without Julia Child, there would be no Chef Scott.  Every cook should own this book.  It's just that good.
