The five mother sauces of French cooking require few ingredients, are fairly quick to make and incredibly flexible - providing you with a nearly endless canvas for your personal creativity. And, it's that part of the fun of cooking?
In this course, we'll make one of each of the traditional mother sauces:
- Espagne (or brown sauce)
We'll also whip up a mayonnaise, because you won't believe how easy and delicious it is.
Once we have our five (plus one) mother sauces ready, we'll add a few simple ingredients to see how each can change to suit your dish or your mood!
A copy of Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Vol. 1 is included in the course fee.
